Trainee Accountant Recent Graduate | Energy Industry | South Co. Dublin

Main responsibilities

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate who has started professional accounting qualifications (or has gained initial exemptions and is interested in pursuing accounting qualifications) and has good knowledge of Accounts Payable and General Ledger accounting. My client, a highly successful Irish company in the energy industry, has the perfect role for an enthusiastic, motivated and career focused individual to join their team. Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable

• Working in the end to end Accounts Payable function from vendor set up through invoice scanning, recording, invoice workflow on SharePoint for PM approval, invoice matching, payment proposal & EFT processing
• Answering queries from suppliers regarding payment and invoices
• Reconciliations of vendor statements and other recurring tasks
• Update local processes and manuals as required

General Ledger & Reporting

• Provide general accounting support to the Group Financial Analyst
• Prepare month end bank reconciliations
• Assist with general ledger and monthly reporting process
• Assist in closing AP for month end
• Assist in preparation of relevant balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare further analysis of specific accounts, as required
• Other tasks as directed by the Finance Manager or Head of Finance
• Support the audit process
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of internal controls, processes and financial systems, ensuring global processes and controls are adhered to

Person Specifications

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Third level qualification in Business or Accounting
• A high calibre part-qualified Accountant
• Confident self-starter with the ability to act on own initiative, multi-task and meet challenging deadlines
• High levels of energy and motivation
• Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills required
• Excellent Excel skills
